Gadsden, AL : An apparent head-on collision on Monday, 9th April 2018

An apparent head-on collision between a dump truck and an SUV on U.S. Highway 411 north of Gadsden claimed a life Monday afternoon.

Emergency responders were on the scene and traffic was backed up on U.S. 411, as Alabama State Troopers investigated the crash.

Authorities have not released the name of the victim, as they continued to work to notify family members.

Etowah County Deputy Coroner Chris Thompson said the fatality was the only injury in the crash.
