Jennings county , IN : Two brothers killed in a southern Indiana car crashin front of Biehle Electric in Jennings County on Friday , January 16th 2015
Two brothers killed in a southern Indiana car crash will be laid to rest Tuesday.
The accident happened Friday on U.S. 50 west, in front of Biehle Electric in Jennings County.
“There is some comfort in knowing that they were together,” said the boys' stepfather, Richard Nugent.
Friday, just after 2 a.m., 21-year-old Charles Lovingood and his brother, 25-year-old Jeff, were on their way home from work; Charles was behind the wheel.
“Jeff actually should have been driving and normally he did,” said Nugent.
But he wasn't feeling well.
Charles over-corrected, causing the car to go into a ditch and hit a tree; his stepfather tells WLKY he was speeding.
“The cop said probably 80 or excessive,” he said.
Nugent and his wife are awaken by officers banging on their door.
“The one deputy said there's been an accident and she asked how bad? And he said they didn’t make it,” Nugent said. “Your world just stops when you hear that, especially two of them.”
The two brothers were roommates and best friends.
“Jeff was quiet had a heart about him, you could just look in his eyes and see that he loved,” said Nugent.
