MT. JULIET, TN : Lebanon man killed in crash on I-40 EastLaken Bowles on Thursday, 21st January 2021

A 21-year-old man was killed in late-night crash on eastbound Interstate 40.

Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers said Spencer Boston, of Lebanon, was killed after his vehicle veered off the road and struck a traffic barrier.

The impact of the crash caused the car to rotate counterclockwise in the roadway. THP officials said Boston was ejected from the car and struck a guardrail. He died at the scene.

The crash caused the exit 226 ramps to be closed for several hours overnight. The scene has since cleared.

Boston made headlines last year when he went before a judge on a simple possession charge of marijuana. At this point, there is no indication he was under the influence at the time of the deadly wreck.

During a court appearance in January 2020, Boston went to the podium, pulled out a joint and lit it in open court. In an exclusive interview with Nick Beres, Boston said he meant no disrespect, but wanted to make a point about his support for the legalization of marijuana in Tennessee.
