Austin,TX : Texas man killed in crash near Jal on February, Friday 2nd 2018

One person was killed in a car crash Friday 20 miles west of Jal.

Sergio Torres, 36, of El Paso, Texas, sustained fatal injuries, New Mexico State Police said, when the vehicle he was traveling in failed to stop at the intersection of State Highway 128, hitting the side of semi truck.

State Police said Torres was pronounced deceased at the the scene by the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator.

The driver, Hugo Ledesma, 37, of El Paso, Texas, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital in Texas.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

The crash is currently under investigation.
