BRANDON, FL : Brandon man killed after Audi crashes through fence and into pond on Wednesday, 20th January 2021

A 27-year-old man died Wednesday morning after his Audi sedan crashed through a chainlink fence and into a retention pond, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man, of Brandon, was driving southbound on Brandon Parkway near Lumsden Road when he lost control of the vehicle “for an unknown reason,” troopers said. The car became fully submerged in the pond.

The Highway Patrol did not say which part of the crash killed the man or if he was wearing a seatbelt.

There was no passenger in the car and no injuries to pedestrians, troopers said.
