A Gaffney man died in a single-vehicle crash on East Main Street near River View Drive in Spartanburg Sunday morning.
Anthony Bernard Beasley, 49, of West Race Street, Gaffney, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:51 a.m., according to Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger.
The victim died of massive head trauma, Clevenger said.
The accident happened at about 9 a.m.
Police Maj. Art Littlejohn said witnesses told police two vehicles were racing eastward when one left the roadway near the Fresh Market on East Main.
