Danville, CA : Albany woman killed in I-680 crash on Friday, April 22, 2016
Authorities have identified an Albany woman killed in a collision last week on Interstate 680 in Danville.
Farnaz Taheri-Stosik, 55, lost control of a Toyota sedan on southbound Interstate 680 south of Sycamore Valley Road around 11 a.m. on Friday, the California Highway Patrol said.
She was driving in the far left lane, closest to the median, and slammed into it. Her car then spun clockwise across the southbound lanes, and an oncoming truck struck the Toyota on its right side, the CHP said. Both vehicles hit a cement wall on the southbound shoulder and came to rest in the far right lane.
Taheri-Stosik was pronounced dead at 4:20 p.m. after being taken to a hospital.
She was listed as a programmer analyst at UC Berkeley on the university's campus directory and her LinkedIn page.
The CHP said the roadway was wet when the crash happened. The truck driver survived as did a passenger, but the CHP did not release the nature of their injuries. Both occupants of the truck reside in Concord.
