Lyon County , NV : One person was Killed after man hit a horse and rolled the vehicle near Six Mile Canyon on Sunday , January 18th 2015

A single-car crash near Six Mile Canyon has shut down traffic in both directions on U.S. 50.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Dave Gibson, a man hit a horse and rolled the vehicle around 5:45 p.m. When troopers arrived, he was alert and conscious.

He was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center by Care Flight. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening

Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
