Volusia County, FL : North Florida man struck and killed by pickup truck on U.S.1 north of Ormond Beach on Wednesday, April 15, 2015

A man hit and killed by a pickup truck while he stood in the northbound lanes of US-1 late Wednesday night in Volusia County, said the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the driver of the truck, Michael Poffenbarger, 52, did not see Matthew Inmon, 32, of Middleburg, and swerved last minute to avoid him.
The front of the truck hit Inmon, killing him.
The crash remains under investigation, troopers said.
