Boise, ID : One person injured in scooter collision with alleged drunk driver at North 17th and West State on Wednesday, January 27, 2016

A 79-year-old Boise man is behind bars in connection with a crash that sent one person to the hospital.

Boise police say it happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday near North 17th and West State streets.

Witnesses tell police the driver of an SUV headed eastbound on State Street failed to yield to oncoming traffic when trying to turn onto 17th, and then collided with a scooter driving westbound on State Street.

The SUV's driver, David Holmes, was arrested and charged with aggravated DUI after police say he failed sobriety tests.

The driver of the scooter was taken to the hospital with serious, but not life threatening injuries.
