WALTHAM, MA : Utility pole falls onto minivan after crash in Waltham on Wednesday, 18th November, 2020

A utility pole fell onto a minivan in Waltham after a crash early Wednesday.

The crash happened just before 5 a.m. on River Street, which has been shut down in both directions, police said.The minivan was traveling northbound on River Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a utility pole. The impact caused the pole to crash onto the minivan. The wires were attached to another pole, which also fell to the ground, police said.

The driver of the minivan, Katherine Olivares, 39, of Watertown, was taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
