Rome, NY : Sheriff's Office vehicle hit in Rome crash on Tuesday, September 27, 2016
A driver was ticketed after her vehicle collided with an Oneida County Sheriff's Office vehicle, according to deputies.
At 10:41 a.m. Tuesday, the sheriff's vehicle was traveling west on West Liberty Street through the intersection of North Washington Street when Jesse Beltran, 29, of Rome, who was eastbound, failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn from West Liberty Street onto North Washington Street, officials said.
The operator of the sheriff's vehicle, who was not identified, was taken to St. Luke's Campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System for evaluation and treatment.
Beltran was not injured in the accident and was issued traffic summonses for failure to yield right of way while making a left turn and having tinted windows, deputies said.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Rome police firefighters.
