Moore, OK : Forty-two-year-old Starla Garcia died and two injured after a four-car crash on Interstate 35 in Moore on Saturday night, March 14, 2015
A person died following a head-on collision that occurred at 11:47 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 35 near Fifth Street in Moore.
Forty-two-year-old Starla Garcia, of San Antonio, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained after a car struck her car head on, according to a news release.
Conner Otis, 21 of Norman, Okla., was driving south in the northbound lanes of I-35 when his car struck Garcia's car, according to a news release. Otis' vehicle continued traveling and exited the roadway to the right and struck the concrete barrier wall and a third vehicle.
Debris from the accident hit a fourth vehicle.
Otis was pinned in his car for about 20 minutes before being freed by members of the Moore Fire Department, according to the release. He was taken to OU Medical Center and was admitted in critical condition.
Dalana Tyler, 39 of Ninnekah, Okla., was in Garcia's car during the accident. She was taken to OU Medical Center and is in good condition, according to the release.
The passenger in Otis' car refused treatment at the scene. The drivers of the third and fourth cars were not taken to the hospital.
The accident caused the I-35 northbound lanes near Fifth Street in Moore to be closed for almost 2 1/2 hours Sunday morning.
The accident is under investigation.
