Ursa, IL : Liberty man arrested after truck crashes into utility pole in southeast of Ursa on Monday morning, May 9, 2016

A Liberty man faces charges after Adams County deputies found his truck Monday morning crashed into a utility pole southeast of Ursa.

Deputies dispatched at 5:33 a.m. to N. 1850th, 50 feet west of E. 900th, found a 2010 Ford truck but no driver with the vehicle.

The driver, Russell L. McMullen, 41, of Liberty, was found walking several miles away from the crash site. McMullen was taken into custody and said the accident happened several hours earlier when he was being chased by another vehicle.

McMullen was arrested for operating an uninsured vehicle, failure to reduce speed, failure to give information after striking property and failure to report an accident to police.

Adams Electric responded to set a new utility pole.
