Four people, including two children, were seriously injured in a west Phoenix crash Thursday night.

The crash forced the closure of the intersection at 35th Avenue and Camelback Road.

The two children, both about 8 years old, were transported to the trauma center at Phoenix Children's Hospital in serious condition, the Phoenix Fire Department said.

Two women were also taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, officials said.

Phoenix police were at the scene investigating and diverting traffic in the area.
