An 11-year-old from Taylorsville has died following a motorcycle accident on Sunday near Blowing Rock, according to the Hickory Daily Record.
Citing a press release from the National Park Service, the paper reported that Jason Kruk, of Taylorsville, was heading south on the Blue Ridge Parkway on a motorcycle with his 11-year-old son.Kruk swerved quickly after the vehicle in front of him suddenly stopped, according to the release. The motorcycle then collided with a pickup truck in the northbound lanes.
The boy was flown to the hospital but later died, according to the release.
Kruk was also taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries. Both father and son were wearing helmets, according to the release.
