New Castle, PA : Four injured in accident in Washington Township on Sunday, March 26th 2017

Multiple people were injured in a traffic accident Sunday afternoon in Washington Township.

Three people were transported by ambulance to area hospitals and a fourth victim reportedly had still not been removed from the accident scene at Route 208 and Busted Iron Lane at 1:55 p.m.

A medical helicopter arrived shortly after the accident was reported and was still standing by in a grassy area off Route 208 when the road was closed to non-emergency personnel about 2 p.m.

Traffic was detoured from Route 208, which was impassable because of parked emergency vehicles.

State police released no information about the victims or their injuries Sunday evening, stating only that the accident was under investigation.

The scanner call at about 1 p.m. stated multiple people were trapped in a vehicle rollover and some victims’ injuries were severe.
