Comstock Park man in serious condition following two vehicle Lake Michigan Drive crash

A 25-year-old Comstock Park resident was in serious condition Saturday night after crashing his pickup truck into an SUV at the intersection of Lake Michigan Drive and Eighth Avenue, authorities said.

Teri Robert Hills was taken by ambulance to Spectrum Health Butterworth hospital following the crash, which happened around 3:30 p.m., the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department said.

Hills was eastbound on Lake Michigan Drive at the time of the accident. He failed to stop at a light at the intersection of Eighth Avenue, crossed the center line, and collided with a 2003 GMC Envoy driven by Marvin Vazquez Ramos, 34, of Grand Rapids, police said.

Ramos and his four passengers were taken to Butterworth and are in stable condition. Ramos was stopped at the light when the accident occurred.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
