ST. PETERSBURG, FL : 3-car crash blocks traffic on Sunshine Skyway Bridge on Saturday, 2nd March 2024

A three-car crash on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge blocked traffic for hours Saturday morning.
It happened around 6:10 a.m. in the northbound lanes on the Manatee County side of the span, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Law enforcement reopened the lanes just before 8:30 a.m.
Troopers said the three vehicles, including a Ford Ranger truck, were heading north when one driver told law enforcement she swerved to avoid debris on the road. That maneuver caused her car to hit the back of the truck.
