SALT LAKE CITY, UT : 3 critically injured, 11 others hospitalized after head-on crash in Kane County on Thursday, 5th October 2023

Three people were airlifted in critical condition, while 11 others were hospitalized following a head-on collision on Highway 89.

According to Sgt. Cameron Roden with Utah Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at milepost 83 between Mount Carmel Junction and Orderville in Kane County before 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Roden said a van carrying 14 people had crossed into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason and struck a semi-truck.
