MARION COUNTY, SC : 3-vehicle collision claims one life in Marion on Thursday, 29th August, 2016
Charges are pending in a deadly 3-vehicle crash in Marion County, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The SCHP reported that the crashed happened in Marion County Thursday night just after 8:30 on SC-41 near Centenary.
According to Cpl Sonny Collins, one person is deceased and the name will be released at a later time by Marion County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of a 1990 Toyota pickup was traveling south on Highway 41 and went left center, side swiping the driver of a Saturn car that was traveling north on Highway 41. The driver of a 2000 Toyota continued to cross the center line and was struck head-on.
Cpl Collins said the driver of the 2000 Toyota was killed as a result of the crash.
The drivers of the 1990 Toyota pickup and the 2000 Toyota were not wearing seat belts. The driver of the Saturn was wearing a seat belt.
All drivers were transported to a local hospital.
The incident remains under investigation by SCHP.
