Turnpike, FL : Haverhill man killed in crash on Florida's Turnpike on Thursday, 12th December, 2019

A 46-year-old Palm Beach County man died Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Florida’s Turnpike, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Authorities say Vaden Allen, of Haverhill, was killed shortly before 6 a.m. when his vehicle and a semi-truck collided near the northbound exit to Boynton Beach Boulevard.

According to a FHP crash report, Allen and another driver were traveling north approaching Boynton Beach Boulevard when, for reasons unknown, Allen lost control of his 2013 BMW and spun out. As the BMW came to a stop facing southwest, it was hit by a 2018 Volvo semi-truck.

The impact redirected both vehicles to the northeast, and both vehicles ended up on the outside shoulder.

Allen died at the scene. The truck driver was not injured, the FHP report said.

The crash remains under investigation.
