Virginia Beach, VA : Skateboarder hit by car on Great Neck Road on Sunday, December 18, 2016

Police say a skateboarder hit by a car in Virginia Beach has non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they were called Sunday around 11:40 a.m. for a report of an accident on Great Neck Road. Police say a preliminary investigation revealed that traffic headed southbound on Great Neck Road had a green light when the male skateboarder entered the roadway and was hit.

Police say the skateboarder was taken to a hospital and the driver remained on the scene. Police say charges are pending against the skateboarder. They did not release his name.
