Piper City,IL : Mich. woman killed in Ford County crash on March, Thursday 15th 2018

A Michigan woman was killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 24 about 2 miles east of Piper City, Illinois State Police said.

A Dodge Grand Caravan was southbound on Ford County Road 1700 East at the intersection with U.S. 24 about 10:30 a.m. when the driver, Edwardo D. Rodreguiz, 39, Merrillville, Ind., disobeyed a stop sign and struck an eastbound Ford Escape driven by Rosemary E. Posekany, 66, Greenville, Mich., police said.

Posekany was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ford County coroner.

Rodreguiz was transported to Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee, and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He was issued a citation for disobeying a stop sign.
