Prospect,CT : 2 injured after head on collision in Prospect on September, Saturday 23th 2017

Connecticut State Police are investigating after a car and a truck collided head on in Prospect Saturday afternoon.

According to authorities, an Acura TLX Tech was traveling eastbound on Route 68 or Union City Road, 75 feet west of Laura Avenue in Prospect. As the car was traveling, they say a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on Route 68.

Officials say the car and the truck collided head on and caused heavy front end damage to both vehicles.

As a result of the accident authorities say the driver of the car, 68-year-old Susan Jean Mariano of Manchester, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital. They say the driver of the truck, 48-year-old Stephen P. Lombardo of Prospect, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was also transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital.

State Police say this accident is under investigation.
