Malvern, IA : Woman killed, 2 others injured in western Iowa collision on Sunday, November 20, 2016

Authorities say a woman was killed and two others were injured in a western Iowa collision.

The crash occurred around 4:50 p.m. Sunday, just north of Malvern on U.S. Highway 34. The Iowa State Patrol says a westbound car collided in the eastbound lane with an eastbound minivan.

The patrol says the minivan driver died in the crash. She was identified as 80-year-old Alice Campbell, of Hastings.

The car driver was identified as 55-year-old Patti Jipsen, of Elliott. Her passenger was identified as 53-year-old Barbara Irwin, of Charleston, Illinois. Both were flown to Omaha, Nebraska, hospitals for treatment.

The collision is being investigated.
