Auburn , MA :Mass Pike toll worker dead after being hit by car on Friday ,July 31st 2015
According to State Police, a toll worker on the Massachusetts Turnpike was killed after being hit by a car at a toll booth.
The crash happened just after midnight, Friday, at Exit 10 in Auburn.
When State Police arrived on scene, they discovered a 210 Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 31-year-old Charlton man, had struck 61-year-old Bill Pappas of Holden, a toll collector, exiting an EZ-Pass lane as the toll collector was walking across the lane.
The driver was not injured.
The toll collector was transported to UMass Medical Center in Worcester, where he died a short time later as a result of injures sustained from the crash.
The incident is under investigation.
