EDMOND, OK : A motorcycle officer is recovering after being involved in a crash on Tuesday, November, 28th 2017

A motorcycle officer is recovering after being involved in a crash Tuesday evening in south Edmond, officials said.

Sgt. Tim Ivy was hit from behind after 5 p.m. while slowing down on Kelly Avenue between 15th and Second streets, according to officials. Ivy, who joined the Edmond Police Department in December 2014, was taken to a hospital to have his non-life-threatening injuries looked at, officials said.

He was kept overnight and will remain in the hospital for another night for observation, officials said.

The driver remained on scene and was fully cooperative with police, officials said, adding that the driver was cited for careless driving.
