Mendon, MA : Passenger dies after car crashes into school bus in Worcester County on Wendesday, August 24, 2016

A 57-year old Massachusetts woman has died after the car she was riding in as a passenger collided with a school bus.

Cheryl Drainville, of Bellingham, died from her injuries following the Wednesday crash, Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early said Thursday.

The driver of the car, 33-year-old Richard Drainville, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, remains hospitalized, Early said.

The crash happened at Wednesday morning at the intersection of Route 140 and Bates Street. It remains under investigation.

The Boston Herald reports the bus was headed to a YMCA summer program and no one onboard was hurt.
