Warrenton, VA : Seven injured, one seriously, in Warrenton crash on Sunday afternoon, October 23, 2016

Police are investigating a Sunday afternoon crash on W. Shirley Avenue that left "numerous" people injured.

The crash happened about 3:45 p.m. in front of the Wawa.

The Warrenton Volunteer Fire Company said six patients were evaluated at the scene and taken to Fauquier Hospital. One was flown by helicopter to Inova Fairfax Hospital's trauma center.

State police and the Fauquier Sheriff's Office are investigating. Most of the roadway was open as of 4:45 p.m.
