A 24-year-old woman was killed and her passenger rushed to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries after a possible racing-related crash on northbound Interstate 5 in Everett on Friday afternoon. Washington State Patrol Trooper Mark Francis said the woman was driving a blue Chevrolet Corvette that one witness said was racing either a full-size SUV or a pickup with a canopy. The woman apparently lost control of the sports car near the Everett Mall. The Corvette went off the roadway and struck a tree, and the driver and passenger were ejected, Francis said. The larger vehicle, which witnesses said is white in color, did not stop, Francis said. Francis said authorities were trying to get better information about the vehicle that sped away.
