Osceola County, FL : U.S. Postal Service truck crash with street sweeper kills Oviedo man on Thursday, 2nd April, 2020

A 42-year-old Central Florida man was struck and killed by a U.S. Postal Service tractor-trailer Thursday morning while waiting for a tow truck to pick up a disabled street sweeper in Osceola County.
Daniel Sapp, 61, of Tamarac, was driving the semitruck north on Narcoossee Road in the right lane near the Redd Lane intersection at around 4 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Meanwhile, 42-year-old Rafael Gurrero of Oviedo was standing outside of and behind his disabled street sweeper in the right lane where he was waiting for a tow truck to tow the sweeper, said FHP’s Lt. Kim Montes.
Sapp failed to notice the sweeper was stopped or Gurrero standing behind it, and drove into both the sweeper and Gurrero, Montes said. The semi then also hit the tow truck, and its driver, Francis Hart, 33, of Longwood suffered minor injuries and was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center.
The semi overturned causing minor injuries to Sapp, who was not taken to a hospital. Gurrero was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
