SOUTH ST PAUL, MN : Fatal crash shuts down I-494 in south metro on Monday, 18th November 2024
The Minnesota State Patrol and Dakota County Sheriff's Office are investigating a fatal crash that shut down one side of I-494 in South St. Paul for hours Monday morning.
State Troopers responded to the crash, which occurred in the eastbound lanes near the 5th/7th Ave. exit just before 4:30 a.m. A sedan could be seen on the center median with serious damage to the front end and airbags inside the vehicle deployed. Ambulances responded to the scene and the patrol originally reported it as a serious injury crash. A few hours later the State Patrol website confirmed that the person involved did not survive.
