Two people received serious injures Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash in Fabius Township.

The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. Michigan State Police said a vehicle Chevy pickup driven by Lloyd Hagenbuch, 85, of Three Rivers, was southbound on Krull Road when Hagenbuch failed to yield at the intersection of Gleason Road. The pickup collided with a Ford pickup driven by Dayton Smith, 53, of Three Rivers.

Smith was able to crawl from the vehicle. He was taken to Three Rivers Health, then airlifted to Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.

A front-seat passenger in the Smith vehicle, 44-year-old Tara Scott, had to be extricated. She was taken by ambulance to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

The crash is under investigation.

Assisting troopers were St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department, Three Rivers Ambulance and Fabius-Park Fire Department.
