Springfield, OH : 16-year-old New Carlisle teen died in a car crash on New Carlisle Road on Tuesday, April 5, 2016

A 16-year-old New Carlisle teen has died Tuesday after he was previously listed in critical condition on Monday after he is involved in a car crash Saturday.

Tuesday marked his 17th birthday.

The crash happened just after 10:30 p.m. at the 1200 block of Medway New Carlisle Road.

Caleb Young, of New Carlisle was traveling northbound on Medway New Carlisle Road and was traveling left-of-center when he struck the side of a truck that was heading southbound, according to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

According to initial reports, the teen was “well left of center before impact with the Ford truck),” according to the release. He suffered serious injuries to his head and neck.

The occupants of the truck were not seriously injured. All parties were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
