Los Angeles, CA : Motorcycle passenger who died in crash on Monday September 29th 2014
Coroner's officials have identified the motorcycle passenger who, along with the motorcyclist, died in a crash on the Ventura (134) Freeway Monday night while they were being pursued by the California Highway Patrol.
The female passenger was Suong Lam, 40, of Fountain Valley, according Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter. The motorcyclist was identified on Tuesday as Peter Tsueda, 38, of Pasadena.
The pursuit started on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway at Mountain Street just before 9 p.m., when a CHP officer attempted to stop Tsueda, who was reportedly riding the motorcycle at high, unsafe speeds, according to a CHP statement.
Tsueda fled from the officer, who followed him onto the westbound 134 Freeway, according to the statement.
Tsueda subsequently rammed into a car, which was traveling westbound on the 134 Freeway at the speed limit, just east of the Glendale (2) Freeway.
Both Tsueda and Lam were pronounced dead at the scene.
