LIDDIEVILLE, LA : Teen dies in Franklin Parish crash on LA135 on Sunday, 6th January 2019

A Winnsboro teen died Sunday evening in a single vehicle crash on LA135 in Franklin Parish.

The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Angel Erwin, 16, was driving a 2006 Dodge Caravan southbound on LA Hwy 135 around 4 p.m.

For unknown reasons, the Dodge ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. Due to extensive damage to the vehicle, Erwin and a passenger had to be extracted.

The 15-year-old passenger was airlifted from the scene to Rapides Regional Medical Center for serious injuries. Erwin was pronounced dead at the scene by the Franklin Parish Coroner’s Office.
