Bowling Green, KY : Child on dirt bike injured in a collision with a car South McElwain Road on Sunday, March 26, 2017

An 8-year-old boy riding a dirt bike was injured Sunday in a collision with a car.

According to the Warren County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at 4:47 p.m. to a reported collision with injuries in the 1500 block of South McElwain Road.

The boy was riding his dirt bike south on South McElwain and reported being blinded by the sun as he attempted to turn into his driveway. The boy pulled into the path of a 2016 Volkswagen traveling north on South McElwain driven by William Ginn, 55, of Bowling Green.

The child, whose name was not released, was transported by Medical Center EMS to meet the Air Evac Air Ambulance, which transported him to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville.
