Erie, PA : 26-year-old man died in a crash in Sandy Creek Township on Friday, 30th March 2018

A 26-year-old man died on Friday morning in a crash in Sandy Creek Township, Mercer County, state police reported.

Police identified the victim as Codie A. King, who was a front-seat passenger in the vehicle.

The crash was reported at 10:57 a.m. at the intersection of Sheakleyville Greenville and Petersburg roads.

Police said the vehicle was traveling west on Petersburg Road where it turns into Sheakleyville Greenville Road when the male driver lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle veered off the south side of the roadway and struck a tree on the passenger side, police said. King was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was injured and transported to a hospital, police said.
