Brockton, MA : Man killed in pedestrian accident on April, Wednesday 26th 2017
They backed the car down the street, then sped it up and tested its brakes on the wet pavement.
It was the scene of a deadly crash involving a pedestrian early Wednesday morning near 261 North Main St.
David Santiago, 42, a city resident, died shortly after he was struck by a car on North Main Street, near Elliot and Waverly streets, about 12:12 a.m.
Santiago was struck by a sedan and suffered a serious head injury. He was in cardiac arrest when firefighters arrived. They quickly began performing CPR and rushed him to a local hospital.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, where he died about 12:30 a.m., according to Beth Stone, a spokeswoman for Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz.
The male driver of the car, a dark-colored Dodge Charger sedan that had Ohio license plates and minor front-end damage, was driving south on North Main Street when the crash happened. He stayed on scene and the passenger in the vehicle called police to report the crash.
The crash occurred during frequent periods of heavy rainfall.
