CHARDON TOWNSHIP, OH : An 18-year-old Middlefield man was killed in a two-vehicle traffic crash on Tuesday, June 6, 2017
An 18-year-old Middlefield man was killed in a two-vehicle traffic crash early Tuesday afternoon in Chardon Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Chardon.
Dominic Ricci was a passenger in a sedan that collided with
a commercial truck at the intersection of Route 44 and Hosford Road at 12:25 p.m., troopers said in a
statement. He was
pronounced dead upon arrival at TriPoint Medical Center, troopers said.
The car, driven by 17-year-old Jackson Condon of Chardon, was traveling west on Hosford when it failed to stop at the intersection, troopers said. The car was struck on the passenger side by the truck, driven by Sean Gates, 46, of Erie, Pennsylvania.
Jackson Condon was flown by helicopter to Cleveland Metro Hospital with life-threatening injuries, troopers said. Gates was examined at the scene by emergency medical personnel, troopers said.
All occupants were wearing seat belts
and alcohol or drugs were not factors, troopers said. Cellular telephone usage.
