Wilmington, DE : Woman Killed in Concord Pike Crash in Wilmington Wednesday on August 27, 2014
Delaware State Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed trying to cross Concord Pike in Wilmington.
The accident occurred shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday at Rocky Run Parkway. Troopers say 29-year-old Princess Ibekaku of Wilmington had just gotten off a DART bus when she tried to cross the street.
Police say although Ibekaku was in a crosswalk, she apparently did not realize that the traffic light had changed.
Officers say Ibekaku was hit by a car driven by 24-year-old Taleah Everett of Wilmington, who remained at the scene.
Ibekaku was pronounced dead at Christiana Hospital.
Troopers say no charges are expected to be filed.
