Greenfield Township, OH : Two local residents died Wednesday morning in a two-car crash on September 3rd 2014
Two local residents died Wednesday morning in a two-car crash in Greenfield Township.
Roger Dearsman, 76, of Green Springs, and Sandra Lovato, 54, of Norwalk, both succumbed to their injuries at nearby hospitals following the wreck.
Evelyn Dearsman, 71, also of Green Springs, was Roger's passenger, and was taken to St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries, Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said.
Dearsman was driving his 2003 Ford F150 pickup truck east on Ohio 162, when he failed to yield at a stop sign and traveled into the Ohio 61 intersection, troopers said.
At that time, Lovato was driving southbound on Ohio 61 and collided with Dearsman's truck.
The two vehicles came to a rest off the side of the road, where troopers found them a short while later.
Lovato was taken to Mercy Willard Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, troopers said.
Dearsman was taken to Fisher Titus Medical Center, where he was also pronounced dead.
Though troopers found no signs of alcohol or drug impairment, they did note that Dearsman was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Fairfield Township firefighters, North Central and Willard EMS and Huron County deputies.
