Austin, TX : Monahans man killed in predawn crash on Friday, 21st October 2016

A 30-year-old Monahans resident was killed early Friday in a collision between a full-size sedan and truck that was towing a semi-trailer on Interstate 20, three miles east of Wickett.
Julio A. Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene of the fatal crash that was reported at 12:47 a.m. and occurred at mile marker 76.3 on I-20, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported.
Rodriguez’s 31-year-old passenger, Jaimes Banderas-Heredia, of Bridgeport, suffered minor injuries during the predawn wreck that the DPS said occurred when Rodriguez did not yield the right-of-way to the big rig when he was on the entrance ramp of eastbound I-20.
Rodriguez struck his 2005 Ford Five Hundred car into the 2016 International Truck Tractor that was heading east in the right lane. The trucker, Gustavo A. Galaviz, a 46-year-old El Paso resident, was not hurt, the DPS reported.
