Las Vegas, NV : Pedestrian hit, killed by car while walking across I-15 near the Strip on Sunday morning, August 28, 2016

A man died after a Sunday morning crash on Interstate 15 near the Strip, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

About 7:50 a.m., troopers responded to a call that a pedestrian had been struck by a blue Toyota Camry on I-15 southbound, near Flamingo Road, spokeswoman Chelsea Stuenkel said. The pedestrian was trying to cross the interstate from east to west. He was reported dead on the scene, she said.

The woman driving the Toyota was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with minor injuries, Stuenkel said.

As of 8:30 a.m., all southbound traffic on I-15 has been shut down and is being rerouted to take the Spring Mountain Road exits, she said.

The Clark County coroner will release the deceased’s identity after his family has been notified.
