VOLUSIA COUNTY, FL : Two critical and one dead in crash on ISB Saturday morning on Saturday, September 2, 2017

An early morning crash near Daytona Beach claimed one life, and injured three other people. The Florida Highway Patrol said a van and a pickup were westbound on International Speedway Blvd., near the Tiger Bay State Forest, when the pickup failed to slow as the van ahead of it had its emergency flashers on, and reduced speed to pull off of the road.

Troopers said the pickup hit the rear of the van, at approximately 3:30 a.m., killing the van's driver, who was from Ruskin, and critically injuring two passengers in the van. The names of the people in the van won't be released until they are identified and their families are notified.

Justin Wagner, 27, of DeLeon Springs, was driving the pickup. He had minor injuries.

The FHP investigation continues. International Speedway Blvd. was closed for a time, as authorities worked the scene.
