Bismarck, ND : 20-year-old man killed, passenger injured after a motorcycle-pickup crash on Washington Street on Sunday afternoon, July 24, 2016
A motorcycle-pickup crash killed a 20-year-old Bismarck man driving the motorcycle and injured his female passenger Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Washington Street and Reno Drive, according to Bismarck police.
At 2:40 p.m., a motorcycle was driving south on Washington Street when it collided with a pickup that was heading north, making a left turn onto Reno Drive.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital, where it was determined that he died from his injuries. His female passenger also was transported for nonlife-threatening injuries.
The name of the deceased will be released Monday pending notification of relatives.
The pickup driver, a 75-year-old Velva man, and his passenger were not injured.
Police closed off sections of Washington Street and Reno Drive to traffic for two hours before reopening it around 4:30 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
