Brandon, FL :Venice man killed in crash on Selmon Expressway in Brandon on Friday, July 3rd 2015

The northbound exit off Interstate 75 to the Selmon Expressway was closed for hours following a fatal crash and car fire.According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Raymond T. Bellamy, 43, of Venice was driving a Chrysler 200 northbound on I-75 around 7 a.m. but lost control when he exited off the Selmon Expressway.Bellamy left the roadway and onto the left shoulder before striking the bridge overpass, causing his car to overturn and catch fire, the FHP said.Bellamy died at the scene, the FHP said.
