Topeka, KS : Police identify Topeka man who died in one-vehicle crash on US-40 Friday on Friday, September 1, 2017

Michael L. Redmon, 54, of Topeka, was killed about 5 a.m. Friday in a one-vehicle crash on US-40 highway near Big Springs, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Redmon was found dead at the scene, said sheriff’s Sgt. LeRonda Roome.

Redmon had been driving a 2002 GMC Sonoma eastbound in the 200 block of US-40 when it left the roadway for an unknown reason, struck several signs and hit an embankment, Roome said.

Further details weren’t being released Friday.
