Dickinson, NY : Man dies in crash with tractor-trailer on Route 5 in Dickinson on Friday, November 28, 2014

A tractor-trailer smashed into a car at an intersection, killing a man. New York State Police were called to the intersection of Route 11B and County Route 5 in Dickinson at 5:11 p.m. Friday for a crash. Troopers say John Youmell, 78, was his Saturn sedan at a stop sign at the intersection. The St. Regis Falls, New York, man then pulled out into the path of a tractor- trailer, police say. David Meunier, 43, of St. Albans, Vermont, was driving the tractor-trailer, according to investigators. The coroner pronounced Youmell dead at the scene. His body was brought to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone for an autopsy. The highway was closed for six hours while the scene was cleared.
